IIRC, he used a spring compressor to get them where he wanted them, then looped the cable around and crimped it together with big cable crimps.

Sorry, that's the stupidest fucking thing I have ever seen. I thought he wrapped a few coils. Putting a hole in the strut tower and using a fisheye bolt and connecting the wire to the spring perch. Ohhh, my god. Wonder if the fluid in the wheel well is from the strut leaking fluid. Everything is being bent in ways it shouldn't be. In all honesty, this would have been a better solution.
